Our school

OUR SCHOOL

The Hermann-Löns-School (HLS) in rural Ellerbek near Hamburg is a two-stream primary school with open all-day schools. It is located between the two districts of Neu- and Alt-Ellerbek with the day care center, the sports halls, the sports grounds including the sports club, the swimming pool, the community library and the community office.

The HLS team consists of teachers who teach the children in the morning and caregivers who look after the registered children after class. We are also supported by a school assistant, a school social worker, the secretary and the caretaker.

We have received several awards as a future school since 2013.

Projects were for example:

  • Circuit of digital devices
  • bees
  • water cycle
  • Participation through student councils.

All plaques of the awards can be found at our main entrance.

MODEL SCHOOL "LEARNING WITH DIGITAL MEDIA IN CLASSES"

First award: "Learning with digital media" model school

Since May 2015, we have been recognized as a model school for the use of digital media by the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Education.

In December 2015, the municipal council of Ellerbek decided to support the school's commitment with significant financial resources. Nothing now stood in the way of expanding the digital elementary school.

In February 2016 the time had come. Smartboards were set up in all classes. This ended the Cretaceous period at the HLS.

Second award: model school "Learning with digital media in subject lessons" Since 2018 we have also been awarded for the next level of digital learning. We are very pleased about the renewed recognition of our work with digital media in the classroom.

The next generation of digital boards is now available. All classrooms and one specialist room are equipped with interactive displays. About 75 netbooks are available to the children in three loading wagons. That is what learning becomes With and above trained in digital media.

Our teachers are now using the end devices provided by the state. These enable safe working.
